Click here to elect your class officers
A total of 55 people received unique nominations over the
past 7 days. I am told this is a robust list compared to years past. While
there were some back and forth between positions, no one was left off the
ballot because their nomination votes were spread over several positions. In
each case, the candidates garnered in excess of 15 votes for the position they
wanted to run for. This tells me we have a group of candidates for office that
are connected with many of the engaged classmates, each of which was able to
get broad support for their candidacy. We had no one “on the bubble.”
As you cast your votes, please consider the role our
class officers will have over the next five years across many diverse projects
within the Alumni Association and throughout the Yard. I am told the
commitments from our class officers moving forward will be more demanding than
what we have seen in the past simply because we have now reached the 25 year
mark. None of these jobs are trivial, each requiring a dedication to the task
at hand we all learned quickly as Plebes.
Thanks for all the help and “remarks” from the class. I
am comfortable we are meeting the goal of an open and transparent election
process. Results will be announced at the Reunion “tent” on Saturday, October
25th, 2014.
Respectfully,
Jim
Maxfield
